018 Back flushing to keep Group operating.
Backflush is used to remove coffee residue after prolonged dosing. Residue, if left in group assembly will dry and harden inside valve and other heated components. Lack of daily flushing (plain water shots) will alow high amounts of coffee residue to build up, clog ports, shower disk, and shower head. The residue has a typical 'burnt' taste and adds additional bitterness to all shots. 1. insert blank portfino cup or Cimbali Rubber flushing disk. 2. add 1/2 teaspoon of coffee machine cleaning powder. (tables or pills may need to be crushed as it takes forever to melt) 3. attach portfolio to group. tightened. 4. Dose (any size) 5. allow dose to pressure up for 10-15 seconds. 6. press stop (listen for "Whooshing" sound. 7. repeat 3-4 times. check if all powder is melted. 8. watch discharge water for clean water discharge. keep flushing till clear. 9. remove portfino and flushing disk (or blank cup) 10. reinstall your standard portfino cup. rinse off. 11. shoot 3-4 shots (plain water) to flush soapy water. 12. attach portfino (loose) and dose plain water again.
