A differential equation is said to be linear if; 1. the dependent variable and all its derivatives is raised to the first power. 2. there are no terms involving the product of a dependent variable and any of its derivatives 3. there are no transcendental functions (trig, log or exponential) of the dependent variable or its derivatives. NB: All three conditions must be satisfied before a differential equation can be called a Linear Differential Equation.
