π΅03 - Linear and Non-Linear Differential Equations: Solved Examples
In this video, we shall learn how to identify a linear or non linear differential equations.
A differential equation is said to be linear if;
1. the dependent variable and all its derivatives is raised to the first power.
2. there are no terms involving the product of a dependent variable and any of its derivatives
3. there are no transcendental functions (trig, log or exponential) of the dependent variable or its derivatives.
NB: All three conditions must be satisfied before a differential equation can be called a Linear Differential Equation.
Differential Equation is an equation involving an unknown function and one or more of its derivatives. or It is an equation involving the derivative of the dependent variable with respect to the independent variable.
