AUTODESK Insight Login - https://insight360.autodesk.com/ Video Description: Generating Insight for Conceptual Models using FormIt Pro: This video will show you how to generate Insight, which means performing Energy Analysis in Revit, with conceptual models from both FormIt and Revit. You can create a conceptual mass model in FormIt or Revit and generate Insight from both platforms. But note that using Revit will give you more options for specifying various parameters in your model. NOTE: Insight in Revit is only available with a Revit subscription. Insight in FormIt is only available with a subscription to FormIt Pro. Lets first take a look at how to generate Insight from FormIt pro. You can access FormIt Pro by downloading the app, or access it directly from a browser on the FormIt website(https://app.formit.autodesk.com/). To learn more about FormIt and how to use it, visit the product page(https://formit.autodesk.com/). 1. Open your Mass model in FormIt called: “Office_conceptm_18.rvt” or build your own. 2. There are two things you need to set in FormIt to perform your energy analysis: a. Set a location by clicking on set location under the property panel or Click on the location icon or, and enter an address. Set the ‘location’ to “One Market st, San Francisco”. b. Select your whole conceptual mass model and under property panel, and check ‘Use levels’. For more information about using the levels in Formit, check this help page(https://windows.help.formit.autodesk.com/Building-the-Farnsworth-House/Adding-Floors-with-Levels.html). 3. Click on the ‘Insight’ icon and “Generate Insight”. Once this is done, the application notifies you that “Your energy analysis is complete” 4. Once your analysis is complete, you see a number which represents the Annual Cost or EUI based on the default parameters you set in the ‘All uncategorized’ Insight interface. Here it is your Annual Cost. 5. On the Insight drop down menu, click on “View Insight” to open the energy analysis in the Insight interface. Generating Insight for Conceptual Models using Revit: You can also start your model in Revit or export your FormIt model to Revit. In Revit, the process follow the Basic Workflow(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VLQLbjJuOs&index=3&list=PLU-TfPimPH1RPWAQpXCfWUAe0Qc4Ij9dp) presented previously. 1. Go on the ‘Analyze’ tab in Revit. 2. Then click on Location. Before performing energy optimization of the building model, specify its geographic location. Set the location. For instance, set the location to: One Market St, San Francisco. 3. Then, lets click on the “Create Energy Model” icon. The energy model is a special form of your Revit model geometry which is used for the Insight analysis. Click on “Create the Energy Analytical Model”. 4. Click on the energy setting icon – Insight comes with a robust set of default parameters, so it’s not necessary to change anything in the energy setting at this stage. We’ll cover these parameters in a later video. 5. Click then on ‘Generate’ icon: it generates the Insight of the energy model. By clicking on it, it opens a pop-up window asking you to use your existing energy model or to create a new one. As you just created an energy model and didn’t modify your model in Revit, you should just click on “use existing energy model”. 6. Another window pops up when the process is complete, you are now ready to generate Insight – click OK. You also get an email confirmation that your model is received and another one when your analysis is complete and ready for study. 7. To access the results of the simulation: a. Click on the “Optimize” icon in Revit; b. You can also click the link in the Analysis Complete email c. or Go to https://insight360.autodesk.com/ and sign in with your Autodesk account, click on Insights, click on All Uncategorized; and click on your model.
