In this episode, we kick things off with our biggest beam delivery yet — a massive 51ft HSS beam that was literally too long to fit on the trailer. Just getting it up the winding hill roads to the jobsite was an adventure on its own. Watch as the Sky track nearly does a nose wheelie trying to handle the weight of this beast. With all fabrication now complete, it's time to step on the gas. We bring in the big guns — two scissor lifts, a forklift, and the Sky track — and the install phase officially goes into sprint mode. This week we tackle some of the most precarious installs of the entire project. We're working 45ft in the air at the upper fascia level, pushing both the Sky track and scissor lifts to near their max capacity to set top-level HSS beams. We also walk through the 3D SketchUp overlay we've integrated directly into the footage — so you can see exactly where every column and beam lands within the full structural frame of the house. We also cover the covered patio section, where two circular columns are doing the heavy lifting for a massive beam span. Plus, we break down why the steel crew is coating every beam in rust-colored primer before installation, and what that actually means for long-term protection once the house is dried in.
