For this one, I was inspired by the story of Frankenstein, particularly because I've been feeling like an outcast lately. I resonated with the Creature's intense isolation and desire for love and connection. Plus, it's almost Halloween! I included a poem as well: "The Alchemist" by Louise Bogan, which I feel perfectly expresses the feeling of wishing to be separated from one's body. What would a world where our bodies don't define our experience look like? (Maybe less prejudice based on appearance...?) I also upped my editing game. I've started using Adobe Premiere Pro and there are so many more things I can do now, so I played around with overlay and fades. The song itself was made with orchestral and electronic components. It was actually the first time I made a song and then decided what movie I associated with it. After making the entire thing, I decided it felt rather melancholic, and so decided to make the video Frankenstein-themed. It also brought up interesting thoughts surrounding what it must be like to BE god. All of these songs I make are my "creations" which I send out into the world - they take on a life of their own after I make them, and they can affect people in ways I can't control. Every day, millions of people release their creations into the world, and it all meshes in the great tangled web of society and culture. We have an immense responsibility, it seems, just by being part of the world. also so excited for the new Frankenstein movie coming out soon! hope it's good...
