13. Intro to Parallel Computing [HPC in Julia]
In this video we will be introducing the idea of parallel computing. We'll cover the concept of DAGs, Amdahl's law and common functional operations that are easily to parallelise (map and reduce). We'll end the video with an example of optimising a Monte-Carlo simulation to run in parallel. This module was designed as an MPAGS (Midlands Physics Alliance Graduate School) module and aimed at postgraduates and early career researchers.
