The "Dumpster Diving" mission in Far Cry 5 is a Prepper Stash puzzle located at Dodd's Dumps in the Holland Valley (John’s region). Preparation Grappling Hook: You will definitely need the grappling hook to navigate the interior. Companions: It is highly recommended to leave your NPC companions outside or dismiss them before starting this mission, as their AI tends to walk into the electrified water and die. 2. Finding the Stash Note Clear out any cultists at the front of the site to secure the area. Locate the temporary rectangular office at the front of the compound and enter it to find the Prepper Stash note, which officially triggers the mission. 3. The Path and Puzzle Access the Interior: You can either head to the back to see the locked door or enter the main building. Clear the Path: Shoot the red barrel on top of the stacked container to clear debris. Use the boxes in the center of the yard to jump to the platform in the far left corner. Grappling: Use your grappling hook to swing over to the ledge on the opposite side of the compound. The Power Switch: Drop down into the flooded area. You need to flip the orange-glowing switch on the north wall (near the large green tanks) to open the stash door. Avoid Electrocution: Once the switch is flipped, the water will become electrified. Do not step in the water. Use the nearby shelves, wooden beams, and crates to parkour back across the area without touching the electrified floor to reach the now-open green door.
