Eagle engine serial number 1694 was manufactured by Eagle Engineering at the Eagle Works at the Saltisford, Warwick in 1905.
Mervyn Revitt first met the engine 60 years ago and in this film Geoff Rigg talks to Mervyn and his grandson Henry as they tell the story of the engine whilst we renovate it. The Revitt family have kindly loaned the engine to Dennis Eagle where it is displayed in the reception of our new Technical Training Centre in Warwick which we opened in 2025.
Dennis Eagle came to be in 1985 with the merger of Hestair Dennis and Hestair Eagle. During the same year Dennis Eagle moved from the Saltisford factory to a brand new and purpose built plant for manufacturing complete refuse collection vehicles on the Heathcote Industrial Estate in Warwick. This film touches on 2025 being the Heathcote Plant's 40th anniversary and 120 years since Engine 1694 was made.
