1983 Celestron Comet Catcher Project - Part II
I have acquired most of the equipment I need to retrofit the vintage 1983 Celestron Comet Catcher into a modern visual and astrophotography telescope. I show the process I use to make this conversion without making any permanent modifications to the telescope. The goal has been to keep things affordable, and I have been able to do that so far. In part 3, I will show the astrophotography performance of the telescope, and how I decided to mount a guidescope, and whether I decided to go with the Baader 36.4mm/T2 eyepiece holder, or use a 36.4mm/T2 adapter/Baader ClickLock system, or use the Celestron Comet Catcher T-adapter (Super rare!! I can't believe I found one). This has been a really fun project thus far.
