It was the second PBA title for Jacques, who posted an impressive 21-3 match play record and led the field by 542 pins after 42 games. Against Webb, Jacques started with five straight strikes, while Webb failed to strike until the ninth frame. It was the second time in three years Webb finished second in this event. He also lost the title match to Charlie Tapp In 1983. In the opening match, Marshall Holman, eliminated Mike Durbin, 238-199. Jimmie Pritts Jr., then stopped Holman, 252-187, before losing to Webb In the semifinal, 216-195. CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND Pos.
