The LockTech Green Cube: Flaw Exposed A Warning for Locksmiths Hey everyone, Michael here from Door and Lock Tips. https://youtu.be/tlAgLkWOsTw I've been a longtime supporter and customer of LockTech, the brand behind the "Green Cube" Kwikset Smart Key reset and decoder, so it's with great disappointment that I have to report a significant flaw with their new tool. After being on backorder from American Key Supply, my unit of the "LockTech Kwikset Smart Key Cube" arrived with a major manufacturing defect. The female slot, located directly underneath the "DECODE" marking, is improperly machined. The slot is not only too narrow but also misaligned, making it unusable for certain Kwikset cylinders, specifically those marked 'K3 46811.' My measurements prove the defect: while the cylinder's male extrusion measures 0.2565 inches, the tool's corresponding slot measures a mere 0.1485 inches. This dimensional discrepancy makes the tool non-functional for its intended purpose. This manufacturing flaw forces locksmiths to resort to unacceptable "field fixes" just to make it work. I've decided to return this faulty item to my supplier for a full refund. I urge the manufacturer to review their current inventory and pause sales of this batch immediately.
