Got an annoying piece of tape, a speck of dirt, or a random object ruining your shot? In this video, I’ll show you a couple of different ways to remove unwanted artifacts and clean up your footage in DaVinci Resolve. Because footage is always moving, one tool doesn't always fit every scenario. I break down my workflow for deciding when to use a quick automated tracker and when to do it by hand. In this tutorial, we cover: Method 1: The Patch Replacer (Color Page) How to use the OpenFX Patch Replacer for quick fixes. I'll show you how to shrink the target size, adjust the source location for perfect color matching, and use the AI IntelliTrack feature to lock the patch onto moving footage without the tracker overlay getting in your way. Method 2: The Paint Node (Fusion Page) When an object gets too close to a moving edge (like a machine or a person walking), the Patch Replacer can break. I'll show you how to jump into Fusion, set up the Clone Multistroke dual brush, and quickly paint out mistakes frame-by-frame for a flawless composite. The "Good Enough" Rule A quick tip on knowing when a fix is complete based on your viewer's focus and the framing of your shot.
