2026 Black Celebratory
Learn more at https://oami.umich.edu/celebrations Established in 1994, the Black Celebratory highlights the shared connections and varied experiences that shape African American life and community at the University of Michigan. The celebration reflects a longstanding tradition of honoring achievement, community, and cultural expression. While the celebration centers African American experiences, it is open to all students and members of the university community who wish to participate and celebrate in this space. The Black Celebratory is organized by OAMI in partnership with the Black Celebratory Student Planning Committee. The Black Celebratory acknowledges the richness of African American experiences and commemorates the accomplishments of participating students. It also recognizes faculty and staff who contribute to student success through academic enrichment, research, and community engagement. Through this celebration, OAMI affirms its commitment to creating inclusive spaces that honor history, culture, and achievement across communities. The event is open to all students and members of the university community who wish to participate, engage, and celebrate in this space.
