This presentation was initially given in person on June 20, 2019 as part of the Module 2: “Water Quality Basics” of the Kentucky Watershed Academy and was subsequently recorded.
In this episode, Malissa McAlister of the Kentucky Water Resources Research Institute overviews the EPA’s Rapid Bioassessment Protocol for evaluating habitat to relate how well the hydrology, hydraulics, and geomorphology functions provide support for the biological function. Examples of optimal and poor habitat for each parameter are shown.
The Kentucky Watershed Academy was developed by the Kentucky Water Resources Research Institute and funded in part by the Kentucky Division of Water through a grant from the US EPA.
