24.Phase controlled rectifier/Single phase full wave rectifier/part 1

Phase controlled rectifier which uses silicon controlled rectifier has many applications. Single phase Full wave controlled converters are of two types midpoint converter or centre tapped converter and full bridge converter. The bridge type configuration is widely used in many applications. The midpoint converter requires a centre tapped transformer and the transformer is underutilized. Moreover the peak inverse voltage of scr is twice the peak voltage.
