26. Single phase half controlled rectifier/semi-converter
Single phase fully controlled converters can operate in two modes namely rectifier and inverter mode. But if we dont want inverter mode in certain applications, best choice is go for a half controlled converter. This is economical because 2 thyristors are replaced by diodes which decreases the cost of the circuit.
