Maiden voyage with the Epic V7 was very challenging as it was my first time in a surfski and using a wing paddle. After some suggestions/insight from Paddling.net surfskiers, I made adjustments in my footplate location and rudder control cant (angle). Made a huge difference. I can actually focus on leg drive and not have the surfski yawing all over the water because I was unintentionally engaging the rudder control. Also, moving the footplate closer reduced my tendency to recline back on each leg drive. This time my butt touched firmly the back of the seat bucket when I leg drive and rotate a bit. Long ways to go on improving paddling technique. But a fun challenge to take on!
