Have fun printing painted shapes onto cardboard in this tutorial for young artists in kindergarten through second grade. Use the inside of a cereal box or any white piece of cardboard. Learn about printing using objects from home: potatoes mashers, lids, marker tops, bubble wrap, toilet paper rolls, plastic card, Legos, blocks, potatoes, limes, mushrooms, and corn. Use up to three different colors and experiment with saturation, pressure, and repetition. This one is a lot of fun! I encourage you to plan on making multiple cardboard prints using different variations. I will demonstrate 3 variations. Next week we will use the cardboard prints to create something else! Materials used: Cardboard (flat), Acrylic paints (assorted colors), paper plates for paints, large paintbrushes, masking tape to hold cardboard, surface covering to protect table, objects from home.
