30ft Shuttle Run Test
The shuttle run test is for speed and change of direction. Watch Coach Jeanna demonstrate 2 attempts so you can make sure you set your area up correctly and complete the test as required. Using a tape measure or measure app on your phone, place 2 cones or shoes as markers 30 feet apart. Opposite the start line, place 2 easily-carried objects on the ground, we used beanbags. Have a stopwatch or timer ready and have someone record your attempts. On “Go!” run down and pick up one of the beanbags, then run back and place it at the start line. Then quickly turn and run back down to get the remaining beanbag. Finish by running back through the start line a 2nd time while carrying the beanbag. Stop the clock as you cross the finish line for the last time. Most times will be between 8-14 seconds. It’s important not to slow down after the last run. In total, you’ll run 120 feet and you should take a minimum of 2 attempts. Record your best score in your activity journal! We will complete this test again next year!
