This lesson is designed for first-time Archicad users who want a fast, clear path from concept to a simple 3D model. We’ll begin by creating a new project from the Archicad template, then set up a Worksheet to import and scale the provided drawing. You’ll learn why it’s important to work near the project origin (0,0), how to scale correctly (and why Archicad often starts in millimeters), and how to change Working Units to meters for architectural workflows. Next, we’ll use Trace Reference to overlay the sketch onto the Ground Floor, and introduce your first essential modeling tool: Morph. You’ll learn how to trace shapes with straight lines and curves using the Pet Palette, then move into 3D view to Push/Pull (Press Pull) and extrude your traced geometry. We’ll also explore quick edits like adding vertices, offsetting edges, drawing on top of an existing morph, and simple chamfers—so you understand how flexible conceptual modeling can be in Archicad. Finally, we’ll export your model as an STL (Stereolithography) file so you can take it into any slicer and prepare it for printing.
