I'm building a new 3D printer. It's a Prusa Steel v4 Frame and I also bougth the all steel parts kit from Ebay. The printbed will be 20x30 cm heated bed. Here I show the progress with the frame and the other lasercut steel parts. Waiting for several parts to arrive. It's a bit more challenging to build a 3D printer from scratch, but today most of the parts are easy to get compared to how it was just a few years ago. I already have a Vertex K8400 printer, that prints PLA very well. But I want a printer that can print soft materials and also some other materials that require a heated bed. The K8400 uses a Bowden extrder, and that is a very good choise unless you want to print very soft materials like Filaflex. However printing with Filaflex is something that I want to do, so I will use an E3D Titan extruder. It is light weight and it also allows me to use a short body Nema17 motor that also has less weight that the normal extruder motor. I thought that I was missing some parts for the frame, but then I found some pictures of how things should be mounted, and now everything fits well. No missing parts.
