• Used when there is a minor-suit fit to investigate whether 3NT is a possibility, rather than partscore or game in a minor.
• Once a minor suit fit has been agreed, a nonjump bid in a new suit below 3NT shows a stopper in the suit bid and interest in 3NT (not
alertable).
• Partner responds to show a good stopper in a suit or bids NT with stoppers in both the other suits.
• Otherwise returns to the minor trump suit.
