Here is what you'll need! 4 DIY HAND WARMERS REUSABLE DISPOSABLE HANDWARMERS SUPPLIES Disposable hand warmers Plastic bag INSTRUCTIONS Save those one time use hand warmers. Once it has lost its heat place it into a plastic bag. Push out all the air and keep the bag closed for a few hours. Open the bag and takeout the hand warmer. By shaking it it will reheat and get hot again. Throw out once it isn’t reheating. RICE BAG WARMERS SUPPLIES Fabric Adhesive fabric tape Uncooked rice Microwave Scissors Essential oil, optional INSTRUCTIONS Cut 2 pieces of fabric into desired size and shape. Line the edges with fabric tape. Lay the other piece of fabric on top leaving one side still open. Carefully pour in rice and 1-2 drops of essential oil (optional) into the pouch. Carefully peel off the tape and stick the edge so rice does not still out. Microwave the pouch for 30 second to a minute depending on the size of the heat pack. Enjoy a nice scented heat pack to carry with you anywhere. ICE MELT INSTANT PACKS SUPPLIES 1/2 cup ice melts (calcium chloride) 1-2 tablespoons water 2 Medium size plastic bags 1 small bag INSTRUCTIONS In a medium bag pour ice melts. Set aside In a small bag pour in water and close the bag. Place the water bag into the bag filled with ice melts. And shut the bag so nothing spill out. Take it with you wherever. When ready to use just pop the water bag within the other bag so the ice melt and water mix. The reaction of calcium chloride and water will instantly give off heat for 30 minutes. HOT ICE HEAT PACKS SUPPLIES 100 grams sodium acetate trihydrate 25 milligrams water pot Vinyl bag for best use, but plastic bags will work. Food coloring, optional Flat iron Slap bracelet (or measuring tape) Scissors Hole puncher INSTRUCTIONS In a medium pot mix sodium acetate and water. Slowly heat up the mixture until the crystals dissolve. Simmer for 2 minutes until you are left with 25% of the liquid from what you started. You should see a layer of crystals forming. If the crystals starts to harden then add a few drops of water. DO NOT let it crystallize into a solid block or start over. This did take me at least 4 times to get the right solution. Be patient, thank you. Pour the clear concentrated solution into a container and let it cool overnight. Remember those slap bracelets hiding in your closet, well strip the outer layer and take out the metal piece. My slap bracelet was a measuring tape!!! Cut the metal into a small circle. Using a hole puncher carefully punch a half circle. You don’t want to punch all the way through. You just want a slit so it creates a clicking sound. This will become your activator. Place the activator into the pouch. Then carefully pour the solution ⅔ of the way into the bag. Seal the edge with a flat iron, making sure there is no leaks. Click the activator (you may have to click it a couple times) and watch the hot ice form. This pouch will give off heat for 30 minutes, but is forever reusable! Just drop the pouch into a pot of hot water until there is no crystals left in the bag. Keep it a room temp until you need to reactivate the heat pack.
