I know I have and it’s never an easy situation to deal with. You’re upset and want little to do with the person who hurt you, but because it’s work, you can’t just up and decide to avoid this person without facing consequences. So now you face this dilemma of being the bigger person and moving on or continuing your suffering in silence. And I know what many of you are thinking, why should you be the one to forgive them? But here’s the thing, forgiveness isn’t about letting the person off the hook or excusing them for what they’ve done to you. In fact, it’s not about the other person at all! Forgiveness is about helping you let go and move on. It’s about relinquishing those pent-up negative emotions and relieving any stress you have about the situation. And despite what you might think, forgiveness is essential for work. People who choose to forgive are less stressed, more satisfied with their jobs, and more productive as a result. The problem is that forgiveness is a process that requires both patience and time. So to help you work through this process, I’m going to reveal my easy 4-step process for forgiving people at work. This is a process I’ve personally used and let me tell you it does wonders with helping me let go and move on.
