We begin by accurately modeling the part and verifying its precision by checking the model’s mass and volume properties. Next, I demonstrate how to precisely layout graduation marks for our inch based scale, an angular scale, and also marking the centers of the circles. These lines will be lasered engraved into our part at the end, creating a functional tool. Afterwards, I show you how to personalize your part by creating some artwork on it, which will also get engraved. Finally, I demonstrate how to color map your part in Adobe Illustrator to prepare it for laser engraving on an Epilog CO2 Laser. This tutorial is ideal for anyone looking to combine 3d / CAD modeling and graphic design who wants a tangible part at the end using Fusion 360 and Adobe Illustrator. 🎬 Video Chapters: 00:00 Introduction 00:25 Reviewing the drawing 0:53 Creating the sketch 5:40 Extruding the sketch 6:10 Adding the fillets 6:45 Changing the part's physical material 7:20 Checking the mass and volume 7:50 Creating the inch scale sketch 14:20 Creating the angle scale sketch 19:30 Creating the center mark sketch 21:35 Creating the projected sketch to export as a DXF 25:00 Importing the DXF into Adobe Illustrator 26:18 Trimming the lines in Adobe Illustrator using the scissor tool 29:40 Adding in the text for the inch scale 33:10 Adding in the text for the angle scale 37:40 Changing the stroke weight and color for engraving the graduation marks 38:12 Changing the stroke weight and color for cutting the part out on the CO2 laser ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 📂 Downloads: The drawing referenced to complete this part can be found at: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hanijqxzZfmYCNsodasa7Njee7re-Tk0/view?usp=sharing
