4th Grade Exhibition Night - June 11, 2013
This is a mostly original composition/arrangement created by my fourth grade students using various patterns and rhythms found in Olivier Cutz's great book on bucket drumming. They were studying "energy" in their regular classrooms, so we created pro-energy conservation chants to fit around the rhythms to help motivate the crowd.
You can't hear some of the chants, but here are the ones we created:
Hydropower, water
Hydropower, gas
Hydropower, hydropower, hydropower gas
Save the earth
For all it's worth
Don't use oil
Or earth will spoil

We'd only been playing on buckets for 5 music classes. The kids created their arrangement and memorized it for their performance in just under two classes. I'm very proud of how hard they worked to get it together in time for exhibition night!
