4th Grade Math 2.6, Multiply Using Expanded Form
Expanded form is a way to write numbers by showing the value of each digit. We can use expanded form to multiply a multi-digit number by a 1-digit number. We can write the greater factor in expanded form, then we can use the Distributive Property to multiply each addend by the 1-digit number and add the partial products.. The amount of place values in our expanded form will be the amount of addends we have as partial products. We show how to model the Distributive Property using a rectangle divided into sections. We solve four word problems showing how to use expanded form and the Distributive Property, one involves a table of information that we use to solve the problem. 4th Grade Math 1.2, Read and Write Numbers in Standard Form, Word Form, Expanded Form https://youtu.be/ldtaIWc1UCk 4th Grade Math 2.4, Estimate Products by Rounding https://youtu.be/0hoVxkyTPXo 4th Grade Math 2.5, Multiply Using the Distributive Property https://youtu.be/-BV3HXcRRYI 4th Grade Math Playlist (2015) https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLKi4WTp6PRGX7RhcxctRibNb7V091JZfn I'm using the Houghton Mifflin Go Math! 2015 copyright textbook for this playlist.
