4v2 to 4v2 Positional Game
In this video, you’ll see a 4v2 to 4v2 positional game – a dynamic drill designed to improve ball circulation, positioning, and resistance under pressure. This exercise challenges players both technically and tactically, with a strong emphasis on decision-making and team coordination. 🔄 Drill Explanation: The game starts in a 3v2 situation, where the objective for the team in possession is to find their target player positioned in the central box. Once they successfully play into the target, that player switches the ball to the opposite side. The teammates must quickly support and move into the next zone to re-establish numerical superiority and continue possession. If the defending team wins the ball, their goal is to score as quickly as possible in one of the two goals positioned on the outside. The constant transitions force players to stay alert, communicate effectively, and adapt to changing scenarios. 🎯 Coaching Points: - Positioning: Maintain width and depth to create passing lanes. - Scanning: Check your surroundings before receiving the ball. - Passing tempo: Play sharp, accurate passes—ideally one-touch. - Support movement: Always offer an option to the ball carrier. - Transition speed: React immediately to turnovers, both defensively and offensively, and support on depth.
