If you're not familiar with cPanel, it is the interface for a Linux server. It is the most popular by far for Linux server. So here are five tips to make your life easier. Number one is how to increase memory limits, max upload size, all those fun little things that WordPress and other applications, or CMS applications would like you to increase. So, you're gonna go down here to software and go to select PHP version. By default, anymore, cPanel should automatically install to the latest version of PHP. We have four choices here. If it's native 5.4, switch it to one of the other ones and click set as current. So, you can see all these PHP modules. A mini tip if you need to turn stuff on and off, like if you need zip archive, you'd click on these, any of these. I usually leave them alone until something tells me I need otherwise. That was a mini tip. Main tip, switch to PHP options here. Here you have all these whatchamacallits. You have all these options to change the value. You can change more by creating a .user.ini file or a PHP5.ini file or a PHP.ini file depending on your hosting company and server. But that's for a later video so that means subscribe to find out that video when it comes out. These are not specifically the default value; these are just the value that's defaulted in the change. Which means the memory limit is not 128 my server, it's probably 32 or something. It doesn't matter. Drop this down, click the value, choose whatever, click apply. Turns orange, post max size, crank that baby up to 64, upload max file size, 64. Not opening anything too crazy right now. Apply, again you can change these values. Those are the main three. Max execution time is probably the next other one that you need to probably change. It's usually probably at click save. It has been saved. Refresh. And now they're green and that means now the server is taken care of. Now you have just changed the values all on your server. So, anytime you upload or install a new application, the values are already in place for the entire server. Next, is let's say you have a contact form on your website. That email address that you want the form sent to does not sit on cPanel server, cause the cPanel offers email. Not very good email, but it's email. You go down here to email and click MX entry. MX entry and then you select the domain you want to change that you are working on. So, if you have a lot of domains, you would pick it here. So, we want to work with this one. This local mail exchanger means that the email address that the website or contact form is trying to send email sits on the server itself. So. that means it's a cPanel email. Most of the time it's not going to be so you're going to click remote mail exchanger and click change. Bam, now your contact form email can send out to your Office 365 email, your Gmail, your Hotmail. Please don't use Hotmail. Your domain based email, whatever. It's going to send it out to it and make it work. Third tip is Installatron. Installatron is one of my favorite things about here because it makes life easy. You have all these applications to choose from. I've not touched 99% of these, maybe more like 95% of these, but hey. Look, there's a lot of different applications you can install easily. They all can be installed easily. Once you have an application already installed, you can go here. Wow, this is a failed install. It should be uninstalled, let's uninstall that. Sure, uninstall. It doesn't matter, I was using it only for test purposes. Let's just go to WordPress. It's easy, install this application. Pick your domain. This is the same for any of this stuff. Go through all the options, blah blah blah. Username, password, email. Change it, love it, install it. Cancel cause it's still installing. Blah, blah, blah install. It's processing. Hit refresh. Now last pass. Let's go back down here and try it one more time. Tutorials are always great. Sure, no not now. Processing, processing, processed. Now last pass, check it out. It's a great way to save all your passwords and generate customized passwords so you're not using password one. ............
