This computer science video is the fifth in a series of lessons that introduce JavaScript programming. This lesson demonstrates how the data on a web form might be handled by a server side form handler. Although this video is not about client side JavaScript per se, it is intended to place client side validation using JavaScript in the wider context of a web form’s life cycle. The server side form handler in this case is an active server page (.aspx) written in Visual Basic. It demonstrates how form data can be used to deliver a response to the client, save data to a database and send a confirmation email.
This series assumes that you already have some familiarity with HTML and have already done some programming in a high level programming language.
