The fifth Bokken suburi, yokomen-uchi, deal with many new aspects to our sword. As a precursor to our kumitachi and partner practices we must understand Yokomen-uchi correctly. The way we move from a connected body, drawing on the elastic fascia over the pelvic arch to create smooth, fast movement between the feet, while understanding the diverting effect of the yokomen entry to displace the confronting sword before cutting.
