A document is simply a piece of text with associated metadata, like a text file, CSV, YouTube video, web page, or PDF. I walk through practical examples using Python and Google Colab to demonstrate exactly how to load each type of document into your large language models. We start with basic text files and CSVs, then move into more complex formats like HTML pages, PDFs, and even YouTube videos with transcript extraction. I also cover the directory loader, which lets you import multiple files at once, and explain important parameters like custom delimiters, field names, and source columns. Throughout the video, I use real examples including song lyrics, ultra marathon race results, and sports card magazines to show you exactly how these loaders work in practice. By the end of this tutorial, you'll understand how to use document loaders from the LangChain community library and be able to confidently load any file format you need for your AI projects. Whether you're building a chatbot, creating a retrieval system, or working with AI agents, mastering document loaders is an essential foundational skill.
