65537-gon Construction
ACCURATE VERSION (PLEASE WATCH THIS INSTEAD): https://youtu.be/cyeql1pBjDM The 65537-gon is the last polygon in the series of Fermat prime polygons (3-gon, 5-gon, 17-gon, 257-gon, and 65537-gon). This makes it the largest constructible polygon with a prime number of sides. I gave up on fixing the visual errors because A. You can't really see what's happening in the animation anyways, B. Nobody would ever try and construct a 65537 gon, C. I feel bad for my PC, and D. I didn't have time. Please note that this video may be deleted and replaced within the next month if I ever find time to fix the glitches. Please refer to the links below, which will be a lot more helpful than this animation if you want to construct this for some reason. List of steps (warning, the approximate values may contain errors): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1VBkFHRhR67MyFr4pu5HlAVgTrZnBsylY/view?usp=sharing List of point values: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RXGY3VEwfI712rWWVF8YE4_XyAqFGK2n/view?usp=sharing List of just the point formulas: https://kenbrakke.com/RulerAndCompass/65537-gon.m.txt Stats: 1142 Carlyle circles 86920 Arcs 2283 Lines (excluding the ones in the polygon) 2030 Points (excluding the ones in the polygon) I will make a video about how the point formulas are generated and how they can be used in the construction soon. I will also make a second version with fixed visual errors only if I run out of video ideas and am extremely bored.
