After 2 years planning and experimentation this month has taken us to the next stage which is to actually grow somethings that will last over winter or most of it.
strawberries and onions are our largest crops this year, we have increased our strawberry production by about 6 fold and i am hoping to produce at least 50 jars of canned strawberries.
canning is my latest preservation technique.
with the new greenhouse we are venturing into tomatoes, again looking at the possibility of some trial canning and if successful we can increase tom production next year.
we will never be self sufficient but home production is so satisfying
