7 Layer Salad
7-layer salad is an American dish that includes a combination of seven layers of ingredients: iceberg lettuce, sweet peas, cauliflower, bacon pieces, and Good Season Dry Mix. The salad is topped with a mayonnaise-based dressing and Parmesan cheese. Recipe Below. This easy salad is a classic potluck and entertaining favorite because it is a good make-ahead option. You can easily make this salad a day in advance and “seal” the vegetables in with the dressing layer on top, cover it in plastic wrap and refrigerate it. *****Correction in my video: I unfortunately did not give correct ingredient for the original recipe: Good Season Italian Dry Mix is what is used. I do however substitute the Hidden Valley Ranch Dry Mix. Great Vegan option by omitting the bacon and use vegan mayonnaise. Great food prep option by using mason jars with same layering effect. Recipe: Layer in a large bowl starting with first ingredient: -1 1/2 large heads of lettuce cut into bite-size pieces. -1 box of frozen peas. -1 head of Cauliflower chopped small. -1 pound of bacon cooked and chopped. -1 package of Good Season Italian Dressing Dry Mix sprinkled. Also can use Dry Ranch Dressing -Mix 1/2 cups mayonnaise and 1/2 cup of miracle whip. 1 cup of Vegan mayonnaise can be substituted -1/4 cup of Parmesan Cheese Cover tightly with saran wrap and store and refrigerator for 24 hours before mixing.
