Computers use 1s and 0s because they're a set of electrical switches. 1 means electricity is there, 0 means it is not. This number system is called binary, and if you write out a lot of 1s and 0s, it takes up a lot of space, so sometimes, you'll see numbers that include the letters A-F in them.
