Introduction on Integration Trapezoidal Rule
Watch this video lecture to learn & solved the integration trapezoidal rule example to prepare for the gate.
In the video tutorials till now, we have seen the use/significance of numerical methods. Suppose we have a function that is complex/complicated to solve, we switch to numerical methods where we do not get the exact solution but we do get the approximate solution of that function. In the methods till now, they used to solve the solution of the differential equation. We will switch to two more methods that are used to find the value of integration. Those are the trapezoidal rule and Simpson one-third rule.
Random function is considered for an explanation.
Area of the trapezoid is ½ * sum of parallel sides * perpendicular distance between them.
For multiple segments, h = b - a / n; where is perpendicular distance between them and n is a number of segments.
The formula of area of trapezoid for multiple segments is explained.
