CV and GATE are two signals required to make a modular, or semi-modular, synthesizer play its patched sound. CV controls the pitch of the notes and GATE provides the AMP ENVELOPE with a trigger to shape the volume of the note.
In this video, the CV/GATE OUTPUT of the A-01 CONTROLLER+GENERATOR is connected to the SYSTEM-1m semi-modular synthesizer – giving the A-01 control over the synthesizer via the in-built sequencer or K-25m keyboard.
