Performed by Brad Makarowski St. Bernardino on Marriage A Bachelor Establishment by St. Bernardino St. Bernardino of Siena (1380-1444), a Franciscan friar, was one of the most gifted and popular preachers of the Middle Ages. He traveled across Italy, preaching in the public squares because the churches could not hold the large audiences he drew. Perhaps because Bernardino himself was an orphan, many of his sermons focused on marriage and family life and the problems and dilemmas that could arise from these intense emotional relationships.
