This week Having located a 20+ year old coding assignment graded on how fast it ran, Rob will demonstrate some approaches to identifying performance bottlenecks using Linux perf tools in an effort to best what he did half his life ago without breaking it in the process. Can modern programming facilities open the door to missed gains in the past? About the Presenter Rob Douglas is the organizer of the Chicago C/C++ User Group, a 15+ year member of the C++ Standards Committee, currently over-committing himself as he sits out a garden leave from his 17+ years in finance, but is always excited to help others move forward in their careers. Rob has presented for both the Chicago User Group and for GlobalCpp, as well as moderated and sat on various panels.
