Hypotension can feel overwhelming in real time, but it doesn’t have to be. In this short chalk talk, I walk through a framework for approaching hypotension, focusing on physiology, pattern recognition, and clinical reasoning rather than memorization. This is an older teaching clip from my residency years, but the principles remain timeless. The same approach I still use when teaching students and residents today. This is not a complete lecture, but a focused snapshot of how to think when faced with a hypotensive patient. This chalk talk is based on the full hypotension framework outlined in Frameworks for Internal Medicine (Chapter 28), where the complete, structured approach is presented in detail. More bedside teaching and clinical reasoning videos coming soon.
