A Life of Rules: Inside Ultra-Orthodox Jewish Communities | ENDEVR Documentary Roma Camps - Inside a Parallel Society: https://youtu.be/S4FEzt-EUKc In the United States, the ultra-Orthodox Jewish community is highly visible yet remains largely inaccessible. Most of this 200,000-strong group lives in New York, adhering to a strict dress code and 18th-century Judaic practices. We gained exclusive access to their world, following the Katz family of eleven as they prepare for Passover, and hearing from a family expelled for breaking the community's rigid rules. Living on the fringes of modernity, the community is defined by strict gender segregation, Yiddish-language use, and a ban on most contraception. In the most rigorous branches, men devote their lives to religious study while women work to provide for the family. Children attend Orthodox schools focused almost entirely on religion, leaving those who choose to depart struggling to navigate a modern world they scarcely understand. While long-established in New York City, the community's expansion into suburbs like Monroe has sparked tension. Local residents have pushed back against Hasidic lifestyle requirements, such as signs demanding "modest dress" on public streets. For those who leave, the price of freedom is high: total rejection by their friends, family, and the only world they have ever known. #FreeDocumentary #ENDEVR #orthodox ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Subscribe to ENDEVR for free: https://bit.ly/3e9YRRG ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ENDEVR explains the world we live in through high-quality documentaries, special investigations, explainers videos and animations.
