A Miracle So Simple
I wake before the morning calls No alarm, no sound at all My body knows the light is near Even if I’d stay right here Too early for the busy day Still wrapped in sheets of quiet gray I stretch into the silent room Bare feet touching morning bloom Curtains breathing with the breeze Dust dancing slow with ease Nothing grand, no fireworks Just a thousand little works Thank you eyes for letting me see Thank you heart for beating in me Thank you legs for walking free Hands that hold possibility Every breath that softly starts Every pulse inside these parts It’s a miracle so simple and true This ordinary day feels new Water running, kettle hums Gentle light on sleepy lungs I move slow across the floor Like I’ve done so many times before Mirror shows a quiet face Not perfect — but held in grace Lines that time has gently drawn Proof that I am still going on No big answers, no grand plan Just this living, as I am Morning doesn’t need applause It’s enough because… Thank you eyes for letting me see Thank you ears for melody Thank you arms for reaching wide Feet that stand here by my side Every breath that softly starts Every rhythm in my heart It’s a miracle so simple and true This ordinary day feels new Before the world wakes up and runs Before the noise, before the sun There’s a quiet voice inside Saying, “You’re alive… you’re alive.” Thank you life for staying kind For this body, for this time For the chance to try again For today, and what begins Every breath that softly starts Every hope inside my heart It’s a miracle, simple and true This ordinary day… is beautiful Before the world wakes up I whisper thank you :)
