A practical guide to security governance
Security governance helped organisations make better decisions and reduce real risk – without slowing them down with paperwork and policies that just sat on a shelf. In this practical, engaging session, we cut through the noise and showed how security governance worked in the real world. There was no focus on chasing certifications just to keep auditors happy or adding badges for the sake of it. We demonstrated how to get a clear, honest view of current security posture, understand where real risks sat, and choose frameworks and certifications that genuinely fit the organisation. We also explored where organisations commonly tripped up by prioritising compliance over security, and how to turn governance from static documentation into something that actively supported day-to-day decision-making and security outcomes. To close, we looked at how organisations could move beyond one-off certifications and build continuous improvement into their security approach, with clear ownership and shared accountability across the business.
