You might think a premier furniture brand starts with a business plan and a bank loan. Ours started with a gallon of "discarded" paint and a parking lot prank gone wrong.
Before Penny Mustard, Arvid was working the night shift at a distribution center. One night, he decided to have a little fun. He placed a gallon of white paint between the tires of a semi-truck, thinking it would just make a "little" splash when the truck moved.
He was wrong. The truck rolled out, leaving a trail of perfect white polka dots across a freshly sealed black parking lot. Splat. Splat. Splat. Arvid got fired. His parents were disappointed. His "career" was over. But that empty schedule was exactly what he needed to start building something better.
