A PROPOSED RIVERSIDE PROJECT WALKTHROUGH PRESENTATION
A Proposal to Revitalize Butuan’s Precolonial Trade Heritage Through a Floating Market and Interactive Tourism Development Along the Agusan Riverside Design Concept: The Proposed Riverside Corridor is a community-driven revitalization project that transforms the Agusan River into a walkable, cultural journey through time. Rooted in community-centric and experiential architecture, the design fosters meaningful interaction and reflection, engaging the senses and honoring local identity. Inspired by the Stations of the Cross, the riverside is divided into five thematic zones: the Pre-Colonial Zone (Balangay Station) celebrates Butuan’s ancient maritime heritage; the Colonial Zone (Conquest Station) reflects on Spanish influence; the Early Modern Zone (Timber City Station) showcases the city’s economic rise through logging; the Modern Zone (BXU Station) highlights present-day urban life and aspirations and the Floating Market anchors the corridor as a vibrant, community-led hub of commerce, culture, and connection. #butuan #agusandelnorte #arcitecture #river #trending
