A self-contained PCB-based weighing scale
Check out PCBWay's website for rapid prototyping of printed circuit boards, CNC and 3D printing services and many more! https://www.pcbway.com/setinvite.aspx?inviteid=482140 If you have a nice PCB design, make sure that you register for their contest! https://www.pcbway.com/activity/5th-pcb-design-contest.html In this video, I reiterate my previous attempt at building a PCB-based weighing scale. After learning from the conclusions of the previous project, I designed a PCB which also acts as a weighing scale. The whole PCB is "self-contained" which means that there are no other external parts needed to operate the scale. The circuit has a LiPo battery as a power source, an ATtiny85 microcontroller, an HX711 AD converter and an OLED display as well. Update: I kept working on the reason for the drifting. The circuit works just fine, but it turned out that the strain gauges I used in the Wheatstone bridge are rubbish. I built a standalone bridge using 4 strain gauges of the same kind and I ran them with an HX711 module and the bridge was drifting and fluctuating a lot. Then, I disconnected the strain gauges from the PCB I showed in the video and attached a load cell to it. There was no drifting or large fluctuations!
