A4900087 Benji is a joyous and family-ready 1-year-old red-and-white neutered male Beagle mix puppy whose owners left him at the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on November 24th. Weighing 17 lbs, Benji loves everyone he meets and wags his tail constantly. He shows signs of being house trained, seemed okay with other dogs he met in the yard during the Glamour Shoot, and is always looking for a lap to sit in. This puppy with his white blaze and freckled nose arrived at the shelter with several gashes (his owners’ inability to pay for vet care for these injuries may be why they abandoned him); one of the gashes is quite deep and required stapling, but his leg is now bandaged, and he is on the mend and should be ready to romp shortly. Benji is a puppy on a mission, making everyone around him smile and want to play. We think Benji, with his happy nature and sweetness, will be a super indoor pet and companion for just about anyone looking for a perfect-sized, happy puppy to bring into their family and make their own. It is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization working to end homelessness among companion animals by supporting shelter adoptions and spay/neuter programs. Through our Shelter Support Program, our volunteers photograph and video shelter pets to increase their chances of adoption significantly. Our volunteer Adoption Coordinators help facilitate adoptions of shelter pets. United Hope for Animals supports rescue, spay/neuter and networking of shelter pets to increase their chances of adoption. UHA is not a shelter, but supports shelters to help increase visibility of animals who might not otherwise be seen.
