About Ed Eisbrenner - MODAPTS® Instructor
Ed Eisbrenner is the founder of Eisbrenner Productivity Group. He is passionate about improving work standards and has helped companies save millions of dollars by improving their processes. Ed Eisbrenner, CMI, is a renowned figure in industrial engineering and a key advocate for the MODAPTS® system. With extensive experience in improving operational efficiency and workforce effectiveness, Ed has made significant contributions to Ford Motor Company and the broader industrial engineering community. Ed's professional journey is marked by his involvement with the Institute of Industrial and System Engineers (IISE). He has served on the Board of Directors for the Work Systems Division, held the position of past president for IISE Ohio Chapter #1, and played a crucial role in advancing the field of industrial engineering. Ed’s expertise lies in optimizing labor—the most significant and controllable manufacturing resource. He is dedicated to designing ergonomically sound workstations and refining production methods to minimize wasted motions and maximize efficiency. His innovative approach has consistently enhanced productivity and profitability across various manufacturing sites. As a testament to his impact, Ed has twice received the prestigious Manufacturing Engineering TMM Excellence Award from Ford Motor Co.'s Powertrain Division for his outstanding work in engine assembly line rebalances. Furthermore, his peers selected him to represent Ford Motor at the IISE’s Annual International Ergonomics Conference, where he won first place for Innovation in solving an ergonomic concern. Ed's deep knowledge of the MODAPTS® system is unparalleled. He spent seven years at the VO Division in Dearborn, Michigan, mentoring under George Miko, the founding IMA member and Director of the MODAPTS® system. During this time, Ed completed numerous productivity improvement assignments across six of Ford’s North American assembly plants. In recognition of his contributions to the MODAPTS® system, the International MODAPTS® Association (IMA) awarded Ed the G. C. Heyde Award. He is the only Master Black Belt practitioner and IMA board-certified MODAPTS® instructor within Ford’s Powertrain Operations worldwide and only the third Ford employee to receive this honor globally. Beyond his work at Ford, Ed has trained over a thousand students worldwide in the Basic MODAPTS® work measurement system, preparing them for the MODAPTS® Practitioner certification exam. He has also lectured at colleges, sharing his knowledge and passion for industrial engineering. Ed holds a BS in Manufacturing from Western Michigan University and a Master’s Degree in Operations Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is an esteemed industrial engineer at Ford Motor Company.
