About This Channel

Hi everyone, my name is Elias Khnaser, If you're new here, please consider subscribing and becoming part of the YouTube family and helping me grow this channel. A little bit about me for those of you that don't know me, I've been in the industry for the last 23 years. The last seven years, I was at Gartner as a cloud analyst, focusing primarily on cloud computing, on edge, on data center, on hybrid, on all sorts of really cool stuff that I hope to bring to you and to this channel. Before Gartner, I was the chief technology officer for a consulting company, also focusing on virtualization, on desktop virtualization, VDI, and on cloud computing. I've written five books. You'll notice most of the books are on Citrix certification, on VMware certification, that's kind of where I started, my roots. I will do a video at one point on how I started and how I progressed in my career. Hopefully, that will inspire and help you also figure out how I did it and how potentially you can also do it, especially if you're just starting on in your career. I've keynoted some of the largest Gartner conferences, I've spoken at many other third-party vendor conferences before Gartner as well, I've done a lot of computer-based training videos at Pluralsight on Amazon Web Services, on Microsoft, on Citrix, on VMware, a ton of videos that I've done over the years. I've spoken to thousands of customers, both during my tenure at Gartner and before that as well. And I'm hoping to bring all of that experience, everything that I've learned to you here on this channel. My mission here is not just to entertain, because I definitely want this to be fun, but to also teach, to educate, to inspire. I'm definitely opinionated, that's why I got into this field, that's why I became an analyst, but I am not stubborn. So, as I'm teaching and educating, I also expect to learn from you. I will definitely comment and respond back, and I'm sure we'll have some heated conversations in the comments, but it'll all be in the spirit of learning from one another and making each other better. So, what's the format? What can you expect in this YouTube channel? This channel is going to be focused primarily on one question, one answer. I'm going to do my best to answer this question within 20 minutes. Sometimes we'll go over that, sometimes we'll be under that, but for the most part, it's one question, one answer, 20 minutes. That's the entire idea, the entire premise behind this channel. Now, what types of topics are we going to talk about? We're going to talk a lot about cloud, cloud infrastructure as a service, cloud platform as a service, a little bit of SaaS here and there, a lot of third party tools because there's a lot of tools that will help you manage and operate your environment, backup tools, monitoring tools, cost optimization tools. There's going to be a ton of those topics that we're going to cover. We're going to talk about edge a lot, we're going to talk about cloud strategy, about multicloud, those are all going to be in there, Internet of Things, a little bit of Internet of Things in there as well, distributed cloud, so bringing the public cloud on premises, we're going to talk a lot about that as well. We're definitely going to continue to focus on the data center and on virtualization, maybe a little bit of VDI and DaaS and bringing up some of my past experiences there. We're going to dabble a little bit in crypto, just a little bit, teeny-weeny. There are some projects that I'm actually excited about and I'd like to share them with you and I'd like to get some feedback. So, we're going to have that. The lighter side of things are going to be a little bit of crypto, maybe some NFTs sprinkled in there. We're going to talk about some personal projects that I'm doing, some tech projects, some cool tech projects. For example, I have completely teched out my dad's restaurant. If you walk into this restaurant, it's no longer a restaurant, it's more of a technology hub, and I will do that in a blogging style, show you kind of what we've done behind the scenes, what we've done with the VoIP system, with the POS system, with the camera and security system, with the door access system. I'm telling you, it is jam-packed with tech. I can't forget, of course, training and certification.
